Unto The Son shows a new side of Asraf, with a harrowing personal story filled with heart and emotion. Abeckaser and Keitel will also be co-starring in the much anticipated upcoming LANSKY film.
This is also a breakout role for Marta Pozzan as she transitions from a notable name in the modeling and influencer world. (@Martapozzan) – Her short Next One that she wrote and stars in got much buzz around this year’s Hollyshorts film festival November 2020. https://www.instagram.com/nextonefilm/
Based on the director’s true life story. When Yakov (Adam Karst) and his criminal partners, Rabbi Hammerstein (Harvey Keitel) and Rafi (Danny A. Abeckaser) begin their scheme, they quickly end up in over their heads with the Russian Mafia and become subjects of an FBI investigation after the murder of an FBI informant (Tom Arnold). After faking his death in the midst of a hurricane, Yakov flees the country to live in hiding, leaving his wife Cynthia (Abbie Cornish) to spiral into an alcohol fueled depression and his five children struggling in poverty.
Shortly thereafter, Cynthia begins a tumultuous relationship with the lead detective of Yakov’s case, Detective Bruce Davis (Peter Facinelli). When Yakov begins trafficking conflict diamonds from Africa, he must reveal that he is alive to his son’s, Israel (Marwan Salama) and Jacob (Miles Santo), who he employs to smuggle the stones and distribute them in the USA.
After falling in love with Rose (Marta Pozzan), Rafi’s girlfriend, Israel begins to question his father’s true intentions. When Israel learns of his father’s past as a petty con man and a murderer, his heroic perception of his father’s gangster persona is shattered. He must come to terms with who his father truly is and reconcile his own understanding of morality.
