Multi-hyphenate Miles Brown released the music video for “Entourage” today, off his debut hip hop album, We The Future, out now. Penned as a dedication to his friends, “Entourage” finds Miles calling out his crew for being down for him over a down-tempo trap beat crafted by Madlib and originally meant for Travis Scott.
In the video for the track, Miles — who currently stars as the lovable Jack Johnson in ABC’s Emmy-nominated comedy series Black-ish — shows us he’s still just a typical teen who enjoys hanging with his boys as they hoop and shop for sneakers.
Rooted in his desire to champion positivity, family ties, strong mental health, equality, and the fight against racial injustice, We the Future – produced by Madlib, Mic Checkmate, and Deliv. and released via ACME Music Co. – calls out to the next generation of leaders to recognize and own their strength and budding authority.
The album’s title track, released earlier this year and featuring Damian Lillard (a.k.a. Dame D.O.L.L.A.), set the tone for the project’s gripping rallying cry, with Miles rapping ‘Yeah we young see, but we hungry/ Might be the next to control this whole country … with great power comes great responsibility/ You need unlimited positive energy.”

Dedicated to using his platform to make a difference, the song “Give Back” encourages others to help build up their communities and uphold our ancestors’ legacy. On “Dreambiginspiremany,” featuring Jidenna, Miles asserts that we inspire others to do the same when we pursue our dreams. “Toy Gun,” on which legendary songwriter Seidah Garrett solely appears, is a song about Tamir Rice, who was killed by Ohio police while carrying a replica toy gun, and “Get Up,” which features Miles’s dad Wildchild, is about harnessing inner strength and refusing to feel defeated.
The album also features guest artists including Slick Rick and Tevin Campbell, who collaborated with Miles on the fun and upbeat track “Kid,” and shout outs from artists including Redman, Method Man, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Flava Flav, Post Malone, and Macklemore, who show love on the track “Feeling Inspired.”
Named one of the top 30 stars under age 18 by The Hollywood Reporter. Miles has gained NAACP Image and BET Award nominations, received a Young Artist Award, and became the first junior NBA correspondent tasked with interviewing ballplayers from a kid’s perspective. In 2019, he starred in his first feature film, the independent comedy Boy Genius, opposite Rita Wilson and Nora Dunn.
