Today, the Waco Family & Faith International Film Festival announces a partnership with Vision Vehicle Productions and Goodness Boutique Film Works to co-host the community event, BE THE LIGHT, a drive-in movie premiere experience. This FREE family-friendly event will serve as the North American premiere for the award-winning film.
The BE THE LIGHT screening will be held at Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church (2625 S. 18th Street * Waco, Texas 76706) on September 11, 2020 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (CST) with a social-distanced drive-thru “Meet & Greet” before the screening at Toliver Chapel Missionary Baptist Church (1402 Elm Avenue * Waco, Texas 76704) beginning at 5:00 p.m. Gates will open for the drive-thru screening at 7:30 p.m. BE THE LIGHT will be available on VOD and DVD in North America on September 11, 2020 from Freestyle Digital Media.

BE THE LIGHT features an ensemble cast including Cara Santana (Vida) as ‘Celina’, Tom Cavanagh (The Flash, Ed) as ‘Pastor Spencer’, Malcolm Goodwin (iZombie, Breakout Kings, American Gangster) as ‘Marvin Wallace’, Dawnn Lewis (A Different World) as ‘Ms. Gladys’, Michael DeLorenzo (NY Undercover) as ‘Ramon Padilla’, Ade Chike Torbert (East Los High) as ‘Short Stack’, Ashley Loren (Moulin Rouge on Broadway), Rachele Brooke Smith (Center Stage: Turn it Up) as ‘Monica’, and Victor Hawks (South Pacific, and Les Miserables on Broadway) as ‘Eddie.’
The film tells the story of a down and out girl, Celina, who tries to make amends with her dying father, Ramon, from whom she’s been estranged for the past 9 years. Ramon has a limited time to live without proper cancer treatments. Celina goes above and beyond to creatively raise the money to pay for her father’s treatments and save his life. BE THE LIGHT’s director, producer, and star Malcolm J. Goodwin, producer and actor, Victor Hawks, and film actor, Ade Chike Torbert, are expected to attend the Waco event.
