Oscar Nominee Ryan O’Neal (Love Story, Barry Lyndon) and two time Emmy Nominee Mindy Sterling (The Goldbergs, Austin Powers) round out the cast in Four Eighteen Films’ debut feature film “My Best Friend’s Famous.”
Independent film distributor Indie Rights will release the film on digital/VOD platforms and the film is slated to be available for free to Amazon Prime members on December 10.
The indie comedy follows a struggling actor, Sean Reilly (Nick Psinakis), who learns his less talented best friend (Darryl Gudmundson) lands a starring role on a hit TV show. To make matters worse, he must battle the egocentric, spray-tanned male star of the show, Bradley Mason Weatherman (Brady Matthews), who is now threatening his childhood friendship.
The film also stars David Ross Paterson (Saving Mr. Banks, Frost/Nixon), Anne Akhila, Alexandra Case and Domenique Fragale.
Psinakis said, “We are thrilled to be partnering with Indie Rights, and we feel fortunate that indie films still have the ability to find their audience through major platforms.”
Ken Murray, film reviewer for The Nerds Templar, said: “My Best Friend’s Famous is sort of the Swingers for today.” Murray continues, “For the over 30 crowd who might not have their life together or maybe it’s not where you thought it would be, this movie feels so damn authentic.”
The pic, which hails from Four Eighteen Films in association with Pegalo Pictures, was directed by Kevin Ignatius. The film is executive produced by Kevin Ignatius and Nick Psinakis. Producers are Quinn P. Smith and Paul Lupario. The film was written by Nick Psinakis and Kevin Ignatius.
