Principal photography is underway on “Clouds,” directed by Justin Baldoni (“Five Feet Apart,” TV’s “Jane the Virgin”) and based on the book Fly a Little Higher by Laura Sobiech. The film stars Fin Argus (Brat’s “Total Eclipse”) as Zach Sobiech, and features Zach’s hit song “Clouds,” which became a YouTube viral sensation and hit #1 on iTunes. The true story also stars Sabrina Carpenter (“The Hate U Give”) as his best friend and bandmate, Sammy; Madison Iseman (“Annabelle Comes Home,” “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”) as Zach’s girlfriend, Amy; with Neve Campbell (“Skyscraper,” Netflix’s “House of Cards”) and Thomas Everett Scott (Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why,” “La La Land”) as his parents, Laura and Rob.
Baldoni directs “Clouds” from a script by Kara Holden, with previous draft by Casey La Scala and Patrick Kopka. The film is being produced by Mad Chance’s Andrew Lazar, along with Baldoni and La Scala. It is executive produced by Wendy S. Williams and Cate Adams, with Ben Simpson from Mad Chance co-producing.
The director’s behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Ben Kutchins (Netflix’s “Ozark”), production designer Michele Laliberte (“Dark Phoenix”), and costume designer Rachel Sage Kunin (“Five Feet Apart”). The music will be composed by Brian Tyler (“Crazy Rich Asians,” “Five Feet Apart”).
Filming is taking place in Montreal, Canada. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
